Tony Khan Says AEW Got Tons Of Coverage From The NFL Draft
Tony Khan discusses the coverage AEW got from the NFL Draft.
Tony Khan took a TK Driver from the Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) on the April 24th episode of AEW Dynamite. The following night at the NFL Draft, Khan was shown in a neck brace as helped the Jacksonville Jaguars make their selections. Khan wore the neck brace throughout the entirety of the NFL Draft and in media appearances.
Still wearing the neck brace, Tony Khan spoke to Mojo Rawley on TMZ Sports and was asked about the attention his neck brace drew.
“I’m glad that it was so much attention for AEW. It’s a really exciting time for the company. A lot of people have been introduced to AEW this week and I know that we had a great audience for our show on Saturday,” he said.
Khan noted that it was difficult to read the analytics, but he believes the Jaguars had a strong draft.
Khan also made headlines for an NFL Network interview where he brought up WWE and them being an evil juggernaut. Khan made a comparison between AEW and WWE, and Mojo asked him about the reactions to the comparison.
“We got tons of coverage for AEW, and I think it is important to say that I think AEW is the best wrestling company in the world in many ways. I think that we have the best wrestlers, the best matches, we’ve been putting on the best shows. I think the best pay-per-view events this year have been the two AEW events,” he said before recapping the matches and events at AEW Dynasty and AEW Revolution.
He concluded by saying, “There are so many great things that have happened in AEW this year, and I’ll hold our track record up on anything, whether it’s the quality of the shows, the safety, the travel, the hotels. Everything we do, in and out of the ring, I think AEW is the very best.”
It was announced on AEW Collision that Khan is not cleared to travel and will run AEW remotely while he is injured.
