Tony Khan Says AEW All Out 2021 Pulled In Over 200,000 Pay-Per-View Buys
Tony Khan opens up about the pay-per-view buys pulled in by AEW All Out 2021.
Undoubtedly, the media landscape has changed since the advent of pay-per-view in the 1980s. Be that as it may, pay-per-view buys are still a tremendous barometer for the success of any entertainment property that is offered through traditional pay-per-view channels.
With AEW All Out 2021 being such a historic event with the debuts of Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole as well as the in-ring return of CM Punk, many were watching to see just how many pay-per-view buys the show would secure.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio on Friday, September 10, 2021, Tony Khan revealed that the show secured over 200,000 buys on pay-per-view. While there was no specific number given, this type of pay-per-view activity from any company outside of WWE has not been seen since well over two decades ago when WCW was still the thriving alternative.
“It’s huge and it’s all because of the great fans of AEW and the great staff of AEW, and our awesome wrestlers. We have worked really hard and I think to finally be able to say that we have the number one wrestling show on cable for the week in the entire world wrestling. It’s pretty amazing. We’ve been the number one show on Wednesday night, and that’s one of our big goals from, from when we set out was win our time slot win our night, but certainly, this is a big milestone and it’s the biggest audience we’ve had since our debut.
“It really shows how far we’ve come. It shows how big the audience for wrestling is right now. Last week was a great week for us too. I think we’ve really been doing some great stuff on Friday nights, too. So a lot of big news in AEW and you know, it’s great to be able to tell you guys that our pay-per-view did well over 200,000 buys, which is a big milestone that nobody had hit in this country for a long time. So it’s pretty a special week for AEW.”

The world is definitely buzzing about the success, popularity, and “cool” factor that AEW continues to maintain.
