Tony Khan Has Given Consideration To Vacating ROH Tag Team Titles
Tony Khan says he’s given consideration to vacating the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championship.
Adam Cole and Maxwell Jacob Friedman won the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championship from Aussie Open’s Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher. Unfortunately, injuries to both Adam Cole and MJF have led to sporadic defenses and zero appearances from either Tag Team Champion on official Ring of Honor programming.
Speaking on the media call prior to ROH Final Battle 2023, Khan told Bleacher Report’s Chris Mueller that he has considered vacating the titles, but understands that it’s important to both Adam and Max to lose the championships in a more honorable manner.
“That’s definitely something to look at at some point. It’s something MJF said was important to him and Cole, was to try and maintain the belts to when Cole gets back. Obviously, it’s been a long road to recovery from a bad injury, but we’re all excited about having Adam Cole back in AEW as soon as he can come back. They are a great tag team for any company and certainly have been a huge part of AEW this year and a big success for us. With Adam Cole and MJF being champions, I think certainly that is something to consider,” said Tony.
MJF is currently battling a shoulder injury. Fans can learn more about that here. Learn more about the status of Adam Cole’s ankle injury that he suffered at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam here.
