Tony Khan ‘Excited To Follow-Up’ On Rumors Of Brand Split Following AEW Double Or Nothing

Tony Khan comments on rumors of AEW undergoing a brand split following the launch of AEW Saturday Collision.

AEW is launching a new Saturday show, AEW Collision, beginning on June 17. With the new series, AEW is advertising stars such as Miro, Andrade, Thunder Rosa, and others who have not been featured on regular programming. In the build-up to the show’s announcement, it has been rumored that there will be a brand split among the AEW roster members.

Addressing rumors of a brand split during the media call before AEW Double or Nothing 2023, Tony says he’s excited to follow up with more information regarding the future of the AEW roster after the pay-per-view on May 28.

“I haven’t given a lengthy explanation yet for what I’m planning regarding the future of the roster and how people will be allocated across Dynamite and Collision and our other shows. It’s a great question, certainly. I can see why wrestling fans all over the world would be interested and curious about that. That’s frankly by design that we want to build that curiosity in and get people wondering exactly what you’re asking, ‘what’s the future of the AEW roster, and what does this all mean going forward after Double or Nothing?’ It’s a really good question and something we’ll be excited to follow up on,” Tony said.

Collision is also expected to be linked to the return of CM Punk to AEW. Shortly after the show’s announcement, Warner Bros. Discovery issued a statement saying that CM Punk was currently not affiliated with the show.

Tony Khan announced that the debut episode of the new series will be held in Chicago at the United Center. Learn more here.
