Tony Khan Congratulates Referee Paul Turner On 100 AEW Main Events, Wants Refereeing ‘Tightened Up’
Paul Turner hit a big milestone at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, refereeing his 100th main event in AEW history.
Turner serves as the senior official for AEW, meaning he is in charge of all the officials. Though AEW Dynamite Grand Slam was a historical night for Turner, the referee crew came under fire for missing key moments in the early matches.
Chris Jericho got away with a low blow against Claudio Castagnoli, leading to him winning the ROH World Title after a Judas Effect. Billy Gunn hit a Fameasser on Swerve Strickland on the outside, setting up The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) winning the AEW Tag Team Titles. Finally, PAC used a hammer on Orange Cassidy, helping him retain the AEW All-Atlantic Championship.
Tony Khan congratulated Paul Turner on his milestone, but he wants the refereeing tightened up.
Congrats @RefTurnerAEW on refereeing 100 AEW main events!
As Senior Official, Paul manages our refs, who do great work, but missed some illegalities in the first few bouts last night
I know we can count on Paul, I’m asking him to tighten it up, starting tomorrow on #AEWRampage!

Khan also noted that he and Turner are the only two men who have worked every single AEW event in history.
