Toni Storm Recalls Her School Almost Calling Protective Services Because They Weren’t Aware Of Her Wrestling Career

Toni Storm shares a funny but not so funny story.

The 23-year old New Zealand native Toni Storm is making waves around the world on the wrestling scene. At the age of 23-years old, many may think that Toni just began her career in wrestling but in fact she has been wrestling since she was 13-years old.

This past October at WWE’s first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view ‘Evolution’, Toni Storm defeated Io Shirai in the finals of the 2018 Mae Young Classic tournament but her momentous 2018 did not end on top of the mountain like she wanted to as she fell short to Rhea Ripley in the finals of the NXT U.K. Women’s Championship tournament. Regardless, this upcoming January at the first-ever NXT U.K. TakeOver show in Blackpool, Storm will go one-on-one with the champ Rhea Ripley one more time with the gold on the line. Having been in the game since she was 13, Toni has seen the ups and downs of the business and throughout that time there were some laughable moments such as when her school noticed the bruises on her body from her wrestling training and they almost called Child Protective Services because they were not aware of what was going on.

“Oh yeah, the school was very concerned.” Storm said during an interview with ‘Metro’. “I’m pretty sure they nearly contacted Protective Services because I’d turn up with black eyes and all kinds. God knows what they thought was going on at home, but in actual fact I was just wrestling.” She said.

The talk of the wrestling landscape in WWE has been focused on a potential Becky Lynch versus Ronda Rousey match at WrestleMania 35 and that bout closing the show. Storm agreed that the match should headline “The Show Of Shows” and she certainly wants to see it.

“Absolutely, 100%. Imagine that, it should absolutely headline WrestleMania. They’re two of the toughest women in the world. That’s exactly what I want to see at WrestleMania.” Toni said.
