Tom Phillips: I Would Love To See Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan Main Event WrestleMania 35
Tom Phillips shares his thoughts on the match that should main event WrestleMania 35.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, SmackDown Live announcer Tom Phillips was asked, “as a fan” which match he wanted to see go on last at WrestleMania. Phillips answered more as the SmackDown Live announcer than as a fan.
“I gotta be honest; if it’s Kofi Kingston that somehow gets a WWE Title opportunity against Daniel Bryan, I — selfishly as a SmackDown guy — would love to see that in the main event,” said Phillips. “That’s not to say that…Lesnar vs. Rollins absolutely can main event any pay-per-view on any day, any year. And then this triple threat with the women is so incredible, and there’s never been a women’s main event in the history of WrestleMania. So I think they are equally deserving. But selfishly, the Kofi story right now, I’m hooked.”
Before Kofi can think about challenging Bryan for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 35, he must first run the gauntlet on next week’s edition of SmackDown. If Kofi can survive Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, The Bar, and Rowan, he will earn a shot at Bryan and the WWE Title.
