Tom Lawlor Jokes That Adam Cole Ducked Him At Forbidden Door, Recalls Meeting Cole in 2014

Tom Lawlor jokes that Adam Cole was trying to duck him at Forbidden Door.

Lawlor and Cole were set to face off at the AEW x NJPW pay-per-view on Sunday, June 25. Hours before the show began, Tony Khan canceled the match after revealing that Cole wasn’t cleared for the bout due to illness.

Lawlor would go on to wrestle Serpentico in a pre-show dark match, leaving some fans upset that Lawlor didn’t get to perform on the pay-per-view.

In a new interview with The Undisputed Podcast, Bobby Fish jokingly suggested that Cole was just trying to find a way to duck Lawlor at the show.

“It is possible, it is possible. I remember back in 2014, when I showed up at the Manhattan Center to corner you and Kyle O’Reilly, where you defeated the Young Bucks at the War Of Worlds, there was a guy by the name of Adam Cole taking pictures with me, asking for my autograph. [laughs] I think he knew what was coming to him.”

Lawlor went on to say that he is eager to get his hands on AEW Fight Forever, where he will get a chance to beat up Adam Cole.

Cole returned to the company on the June 28 episode of AEW Dynamite. Fans can see Fightful’s full report on the show by clicking here.
