Tokyo Sports Newspaper Advertising Meiko Satomura For The Mae Young Classic II

One competitor set for the Mae Young Classic?

The second go-around of the Mae Young Classic tournament will be taped this summer on August 8th and August 9th and will air at a later date. The field of competitors for the tournament have yet to be officially announced but according to Japan’s daily sports newspaper Tokyo Sports, there is one name who is set to go for the Mae Young Classic II.

 

The newspaper is advertising Meiko Satomura for this summer’s tournament. Satomura began her in-ring career in 1995 and she is also the founder of Sendai Girls’ Pro Wrestling which is a Japanese women’s pro wrestling promotion. Satomura also competed in the inaugural WCW Women’s Championship tournament as WCW had a working relationship with ‘Gaea Japan’ which was the promotion that Satomura began her pro wrestling career in. The 23-year veteran is currently featured in Sendai Girls’ Pro Wrestling and CHIKARA, and she is also the current ‘Fight Club: PRO’ Champion. 

 

Tokyo Sports also recently reported that former World Of STARDOM Champion Io Shirai is heading to the WWE as well. To read more details on that, click here.
