Todd Pettengill Discusses His Relationships With Vince McMahon And Kevin Dunn

Todd Pettengill filled many roles during his time in WWE in the mid-90s, hosting studio shows, interviewing superstars, and hosting pay-per-view events.

Pettengill was one of the voices of the New Generation and spent plenty of time working with Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn during his time in the company.

Speaking on the Two Man Power Trip podcast, Pettengill discussed his relationships with both men.

“He was always genuine and helpful,” Pettengill said about Vince. “I didn’t get any of the ‘he’s a nightmare.’ Here’s a guy who has taken a regional business to a multi-billion dollar property. You have to make business decisions when you do that. Maybe that rubs people wrong, but I always respected that. If he had to correct you, he did it politely and professionally. That was his job, he’s the boss. It was always constructive and came from a place of wanting the product to be better. I never had a problem with it or had words or ever saw him yell at anyone. He’s a soft-spoken guy and very chill. People I talk to says he’s still the same, but you get a reputation. I never saw it. He was always great with me.”

Pettengill said he and Vince would stay in touch over the years when it made sense but knows Vince is a busy man with a company to run.

When it comes to his dealings with Dunn, Pettengill said, “Kevin is terrific. If we were responsible for content for 130 countries every week, we probably wouldn’t do interviews either. He doesn’t have the time. I don’t know how he does it. We became very good friends and we used to talk a lot. We haven’t over these years, but I know that if I need to talk to him, I could pick up the phone and he’d answer. He has so much responsibility and the product is terrific.”

Pettengill will return to WWE television on Sunday for NXT TakeOver: In Your House, serving as the host of the event.

Fightful will have live coverage of NXT TakeOver: In Your House beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET. You can view the current lineup for the event by clicking here
