TNT General Manager Says There Has Been Talks Regarding AEW Studio Show

AEW discussing potential studio show.

Though All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite has yet to debut on TNT, Turner is already pushing the company hard. Turner Media has already streamed previous AEW events through B/R Live and they ran a one-hour special prior to AEW All Out on TNT. TNT will air another special on Tuesday, Oct. 1, the night before the Oct. 2 premiere of Dynamite. Commercials for Dynamite have also been airing on the Turner Media stations and in various markets during WWE events.

Speaking to The Wrap, TNT General Manager Brett Weitz revealed that they have been talking to AEW about a potentially adding a studio show as well.

“We are talking about it,” Weitz said when The Wrap specifically asked if there could be a possible studio show as a companion [series] for Dynamite.“I don’t know if you’ve met Tony Khan, but he’s not short of ideas — or passion. So there is a world where we’re thinking about ‘Where does something like that live?’ Knowing full well that within the WarnerMedia ecosystem we have B/R Live, we’ve got all these different components at our disposal. The more content for these fans the better, and we would love to figure out what something like that looks like.”

Weitz continued, “It may not happen on October 2, which is what we’re all kind of gunning towards, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was something that [launched] shortly thereafter. We’re thinking about it for sure.”

WWE is set to launch a studio show this fall on Fox Sports 1, though no premiere date has been given.
