TNA Wrestling Exercises Option To Extend Josh Alexander’s Contract, Alexander Comments
Josh Alexander will be staying with TNA Wrestling for at least one more year.
As first reported by Sports Illustrated, TNA Wrestling has exercised its option to extend Josh Alexander’s contract through the next year. The exact terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Alexander commented on the company’s decision, noting that TNA Wrestling inspired him when he was younger and he’s excited to do the work over the next year to help further the legacy of the promotion.
“TNA, those are the letters that inspired me to get in the ring and chase this wild dream,” said Alexander. “TNA picking up the option means I have a lot of work to do, and I’m excited to put in the work and make it happen.”
TNA Wrestling recently underwent a significant change behind the scenes as Scott D’Amore was relieved of his duties as president of the company. Alexander notes that he has a ton of respect for D’Amore and while it’s hard to say that the company is going to outdo what it had accomplished under Scott, he’s going to do everything in his power to try and make it happen.
“I have so much respect for Scott,” said Alexander. “Working with him over the last five years, and seeing the way he operates, he is the ultimate leader. I’ve tried to take pieces of that in the way I give advice to people. My goal is to lead by example. We have a locker room of like-minded people and we all have a chip on our shoulder. Those shows in Vegas [Hard To Kill and Snake Eyes] were so successful, and it’s tough to say we can be even more successful than we were under Scott, but I’m going to bust my ass trying.”
Alexander will have been with the company for six years by the end of this extension and he says that, at least for right now, he couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.
