TNA Suffers Through Viewership Drop Against Start Of NFL Season

TNA Impact Wrestling’s viewership continues to trend downward after going up against the start of the NFL season this week.

According to Showbuzz Daily, this week’s TNA Impact Wrestling episode, which featured the much-hyped “Delete or Decay” match with Reby Sky, “Broken” Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy vs. Rosemary and TNA Tag Team Champions The Decay, drew 337,000 viewers. The show was against the NFL season opener featuring the Denver Broncos vs the Carolina Panthers. This is down 4% from last week’s 351,000 viewers. It is also down 10% from the 373,000 viewers Impact drew two weeks ago.

It’s been a down week for three of the top U.S. wrestling shows: RAW, SmackDown and Impact Wrestling. All three of these shows had decrease in viewership this week and RAW and Impact Wrestling had to deal with nationally televised football games. Impact was #119 in the top 150 cable ratings. Two weeks ago, TNA was #100 in the ratings and last week, they were ranked #124. Home and Garden TV’s Flip or Flop led the way in ratings with a 0.60 rating in the 18-49 demographic, while Impact could only muster up a 0.1 rating.

This week’s show also featured the start of the TNA Grand Impact Championship tournament where the finals will be held at the Bound for Glory show.
