Exclusive: TK O’Ryan Reveals How He Landed With ROH, Recalls Beating Bullet Club In His Debut

TK O’Ryan hasn’t had the conventional Ring of Honor career. He met immediate success as a member of Kingdom, and didn’t take the normal path into the company.

A lot of talent on the roster a few years in have experienced varying degrees of success, and got their shots after appearing on Future of Honor. For O’Ryan, not only are he and Kingdom the first ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions…they were the first two-time champions….and the first three-time champions. Being the most decorated champions in that title’s history is something that O’Ryan is embracing.

“It felt right, man. It was something we knew we were capable of and if the opportunity was in front of us, we’d smash it. I think when we won them in Lowell, that was the most fun for me. It was a Twilight Zone experience. We were in our backyard and the crowd was behind us against SoCalUncensored who got booed SCU out of the building that night. It was a bad ass match and things really clicked that night as a team,” said O’Ryan in an interview with Fightful.

O’Ryan’s first few matches in ROH saw him defeat Bullet Club, followed by a group of CMLL All-Stars, followed by Jay White (now in NJPW), Kushida (headed to NXT) and Lio Rush (now on Raw).

“When I made my debut (beating Bullet Club), that was my first match on TV. I was fairly new to wrestling. I was like a year in. It was an interesting path. The original phone call I got when I was first signed to Ring of Honor was Kevin Kelly. He called to ask if I was interested in coming into the company full-time. I was more than happy to come aboard. There were so many people along the line that helped me get into Ring of Honor. Bringing me to shows and making sure it was visible. I love working for Ring of Honor. It’s an awesome platform to show people we belong. I don’t see myself leaving Ring of Honor,” said O’Ryan
