Title Match Set For Next Week’s Smackdown

Well, that escalated quickly.

Just a few weeks after their impromptu feud started on Smackdown Live, Intercontinental Champion The Miz will defend his title against former Intercontinental, United States and WWE Champion Dean Ambrose.

The Miz emerged victorious a couple of weeks back when James Ellsworth would cost Ambrose the match. On last week's Smackdown Live, The Miz informed the world of Renee Young's relationship with Ambrose, which was welcomed with a a slap. Ambrose would then attack Miz on this week's show.

The next episode of Smackdown takes place January 3 from Jacksonville, Florida. Just hours after, Fightful.com will also have live coverage of Wrestle Kingdom 11.
