Title Change At Tonight’s SmackDown Live

The first title match of tonight's SmackDown Live episode saw American Alpha defeat the Wyatt Family to win the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships.

It is American Alpha's first title win since being called up from the NXT brand, where they were NXT Tag Team Champions earlier this year. American Alpha defeated The Waytt Family, The Usos and Heath Slater & Rhyno in a Four Corners Elimination Match to win the titles. Here is the excerpt from Fightful's Ryan Cook's Live Viewing Party:

Luke goes for a sitout powerbomb, but Gable counters then tags in Jordan as Randy is tagged in as well. Jordan drops both Randy and Luke repeatedly then hits a Saito Suplex for a close 2 count that Luke breaks up. Luke and Jordan fight outside then Chad takes out Luke before Jordan takes out Randy at ringside. Randy capitalizes and hits the draping DDT on Jordan before AA capitalize on a mistake by Randy and Luke for the pin and the win.

Winner: American Alpha via pinfall

American Alpha, comprised of Jason Jordan and Chad Gable, made their debut as a team in NXT in 2015 after Gable began a storyline with Jason Jordan, in which he tried to convince Jordan to form a new partnership, Together they won the NXT Tag Titles at NXT TakeOver: Dallas. They were then drafted by SmackDown at the 2016 WWE Draft in the 5th round.

This episode of SmackDown not only had the tag titles on the line, but also has Becky Lynch challenging Alexa Bliss for the SmackDown Women's title and Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler challenging AJ Styles for the WWE title in a triple threat match.
