Tessa Blanchard On Sandman Saying Women Shouldn’t Main Event: It’s A Crock Of Horsesh-t

Tessa Blanchard calls out Sandman.

At the WrestleCade SuperShow on Nov. 30, the main event was scheduled to be Rosemary vs. Tessa Blanchard vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Taya Valkyrie, though Tessa was unable to compete due to an eye injury. She was replaced by Su Yung. Prior to the match, Jordynne Grace sent out a message on Twitter, revealing ECW legend The Sandman wasn’t thrilled to see women in the main event.

Before the match got underway, Tessa addressed the incident, calling out Sandman for his words.

“I was in the back earlier tonight and I had to listen to an old ECW guy that used to have a beer in his hand, talk about how ‘women shouldn’t be main eventing this event or any event.’ Not because he didn’t have faith in these women, but because he didn’t have faith in you fans. It’s 2020 and I think that’s a crock of horseshit. The women in this ring right now, are some of the best women’s wrestlers — no, they are some of the best wrestlers in this business. You’re looking at women who have traveled the world and held notable titles in notable companies all over the entire world. I can’t think of anybody better to main event,” said Tessa in a promo in front of the live crowd.

While Sandman may not agree with women main eventing shows, Chris Jericho and Will Ospreay had their back.

Tessa Blanchard is set to headline IMPACT Hard to Kill on Jan. 12 when she challenges Sami Callihan for the IMPACT World Championship.
