Taz: Good Gosh, I Hate The Term ‘Banger’ So F*cking Much

In recent years, the word has been increasingly used to describe particularly good matches in the wrestling world. Fans and wrestlers alike have started using the word, and it has become commonplace. The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland, and Butch) have incorporated it into their promos, as they often vow to deliver banger after banger. Sheamus and Drew McIntyre briefly tied it into their pairing, as they called themselves The Banger Bros. Apparently, Taz has grown tired of this excessive usage.

In a tweet in January 27, the AEW commentator tweeted that he hates the term. He noted that “great” and “amazing” are more than fine, as is “awesome.” Taz also stated that if he was still doing his podcast, he would do a whole show about the word “banger” and proceed to ban it.

Despite Taz’s disdain for the word, it seems like a safe bet that many people will still continue to use “banger” to describe good matches.
