TAELER: Fast Track to WWE Fastlane Heats Up On The Road To Wrestlemania

As the days tick by on the road to Wrestlemania, the last stop fast approaches. The final PPV before the WWE flagship PPV is WWE’s Fastlane. Many Superstars are currently on a fast collision course as all vie for the chance to make it into championship contention at Wrestlemania. To be a Champion headed into the biggest PPV of the year and/or to potentially win more championship gold simultaneously. This fast track to Fastlane on Sunday March 21st will highlight this very example as the WWE Universe tunes in to see the Smackdown Women’s Champion, Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair challenge the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions NIa Jax and Shayna Baszler…

As competition grows in the WWE Women’s Divisions so too does its’ talent in my opinion. Competition as I often say is the lifeblood of Sports Entertainment and the Pro Wrestling Industry alike. Being stale or stagnant, not evolving, and thus not growing is the quickest way to waste your potential as a Superstar and subsequently the company’s money as well as T.V. time. Very costly when you think in terms of your shelf life as an athlete, your ability to pivot and adapt to the market, and of course your time on this earth. Nothing is ever truly guaranteed. Hence cards subject to change… However, for those who truly love the business, for example, WWE Superstars like Sasha Banks, every opportunity to smash through a glass ceiling is well worth the earning on the long ever-winding ever-evolving fast track to superstardom.

Heading into the next episode of Friday Night Smackdown will be a test. Entering WWE Fastlane will be a gamble. Both opportunities provide an intrinsically valuable edge over the competition if you win effectively making the risk worth the reward. But to what end if you lose? With both Smackdown and the Fastlane PPV being so close to Wrestlemania, the potential to lose gold is only one of the concerns when approaching Raw, Smackdown, NXT, and Fastlane leading up to Wrestlemania. This leads me to this next episode of Friday Night Smackdown. Sasha Banks will defend her Smackdown Women’s Championship against her WWE Fastlane competitor, one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Nia Jax prior to meeting at WWE Fastlane on March 21st…

In terms of competition and strategy, I would think that Nia Jax would be not only aiming to strip Sasha Banks of her WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship, but also to do lasting bodily harm. Essentially mentally and physically wearing down Sasha Banks prior to Jax and Baszler putting their Tag Title on the line at Fastlane. The cliché’ two birds with one stone comes to mind. After all, it is a physical sport. A test in strategy, talent, in ring awareness, resilience, mental fortitiude, as well as Pro Wrestling knowledge amassing from equal parts: technical, high-flying, psychology, and performance execution. As Nia Jax squares off with Sasha Banks, in the back of her mind will no doubt be finding ways to instill the aforementioned damage. Irrevocably altering the odds into hers and Shayna Baszler’s favor for WWE Fastlane. With the dastardly fierce duo set to defend their own WWE Tag Team Championship Titles against Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair at Fastlane, any upper hand over Banks and Belair would be worth it, by any means necessary. To the point that Nia Jax would want to become the woman to successfully dethrone the fan favorite Sasha Banks and thus wear two belts.

On the side of the WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion is knowledge and skill. Sasha Banks would stand to gain a huge mental advantage over Nia Jax by defeating her on Smackdown right before Fastlane. That chip on Jax’s shoulder could prove too emotional and therefore costly. Emotion is often cited as leading to mistakes in the manner of war and competition. And that one opening may be all Banks and Belair need to capture the Tag Team Titles at Fastlane and thus head into Wrestlemania not only in a historical Wrestlemania match, but also as both wearing WWE Championship gold.

A strategy I expect to see from Banks as she goes one on one with Nia Jax on Smackdown is quick movements. A flurry of offensive moves and strikes. Keep Jax staggering and use her size against her. The best way to beat Nia Jax being to get Nia Jax to beat herself. David versus Goliath comes to mind. By keeping Jax on the defense and staggering, Sasha Banks can maintain a certain separation so that Nia Jax cannot regain control of Sasha Bank’s body which would result in a paradym shift. I.E capturing a body part via submission or pinfall. Relinquishing that control could be a huge mistake for Banks and the game changer for Jax.

Sasha Banks isn’t entirely unused to having a giant target on her back. Being outspoken and fully prepared to outwork others, having men and other women covet what she has isn’t a new phenomenon for the Legit Boss, and she relishes each Bank Statement. Yes, pun intended. Reporting to work for this next episode of Smackdown will be business as usual for Banks. She’ll enter Smackdown to defend her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Nia Jax. Then she”ll team with her Wrestlemania opponent Bianca Belair to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Titles at WWE Fastlane. And then she’ll be completely focused on Wrestlemania for her first ever Wrestlemania singles match. The Legit Boss Sasha Banks will go one on one with the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble Winner, the EST of WWE Bianca Belair. Tune in the WWE”s Friday Night Smackdown as the women’s competition heats up on the fast track to WWE Fastlane and on further still to the biggest stage of them all – Wrestlemania!
