Syuri Kondo Wants To Wrestle Asuka Again, Would Also Like To Face Toni Storm Or Hikaru Shida

A veteran of both the wrestling world and the world of mixed martial arts, Syuri Kondo says she can see herself in one of the major American wrestling promotions.

Currently the World of STARDOM Champion, Syuri Kondo left mixed martial arts behind in 2019 in order to return to professional wrestling. Now, in a new interview with MMAMania, Kondo is talking about her goals when it comes to potentially wrestling in the United States. No stranger to facing Asuka, Syuri Kondo says she would like the opportunity to go one-on-one with her old rival again.

“I want people all over the world to see my professional wrestling, be moved, and give them some energy to move forward. Also to become a top wrestler, someone that people remember throughout history. Also, I would like to have a match someday with Asuka who was my rival [as Kana] in Japan,” says Kondo.

When speaking about a potential move to AEW, Syuri Kondo says she would like the opportunity to again team with and eventually wrestle against Hikaru Shida. She also named several wrestlers she would be happy stepping in the ring with including the likes of current interim AEW Women’s World Champion, Toni Storm.

“Of course, I want to! It’s exciting and I feel the energy. I want to team up and fight with Hikaru Shida, who was my tag partner in Japan, and I would be happy if I could fight Serena Deeb, Toni Storm, and Jamie Hayter.”

For now, Kondo is giving her all to the world of Joshi. Fightful has regular coverage of STARDOM in our results section. We also have regular updates from the world of Joshi via Scott Edwards’ Joshi Journal.
