Swerve Strickland Plans To Get Rid Of The Ghost Of His Past At AEW Worlds End
Swerve Strickland keeps it short and sweet while discussing his bout with Keith Lee at AEW Worlds End.
Swerve Strickland aims to eliminate the ghost of his past at AEW Worlds End.
Back in 2022, Swerve in Our Glory had held the AEW Tag Team Championships, but after losing the titles, the two men began to have growing tension between the pair. In the end, Strickland would turn on Keith, stomping a cinder block into his chest.
While there have been references to this attack and betrayal, it seemed for a long time that the rivalry would not receive a worthy conclusion. However, as we finish out 2023, Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland will face off in singles action at AEW Worlds End later on tonight.
While speaking to Wrestling With Savage on Friday, Swerve was asked about what he plans to accomplish at Worlds End.
“Keith Lee’s in the past right now. Only way to move forward is to get rid of the past. So at Worlds End, tomorrow night, I get rid of Keith Lee, the ghost of my past.”
The rivalry was reignited after Keith had been teasing going after “him”. Despite a brief rivalry with Shane Taylor, it was later revealed that “him” was Swerve Strickland.
In a seperate interview, Swerve teased possibly facing off with MJF with the AEW World Title on the line. You can read more about that here.
