Tokyo Sports reports that Suwama will resign from his role as the Senior Managing Executive Officer by the end of 2024 and become the President of Evolution Joshi Pro-Wrestling in January 2025.
Per officials, Suwama informed the organization of his intention to leave the company in October, but the two sides agreed that he would stay on as a wrestler while leaving his executive role. As part of the change, his number of matches in AJPW is expected to decrease significantly. A press conference is scheduled for December 9. Suwama noted that he thought about leaving in October because it marked the 20th anniversary of his debut, and reaching this milestone had been his goal since he started.
Suwama was announced as the Senior Managing Executive Officer of AJPW in March 2021. He has remained active as a wrestler since he started in this role. Throughout his career, Suwama has won multiple titles; he is an eight-time Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion and an eight-time World Tag Team Champion, among other accolades.
Evolution Joshi launched in 2023 and holds events at Shin-Kiba 1st RING in Tokyo.
Fightful will provide more information as it becomes available.
