With Superstar Shakeup In Rear View, SmackDown Viewership Sees Steep Decline For 4/18
Last night's episode of SmackDown Live, featuring an advertised Six-Pack Challenge to determine a new #1 contender to Randy Orton's WWE Title, as well as Kevin Owens' first ever "Face of America" Open Challenge, drew 2.544 million viewers, according to ShowBuzz Daily. This is down 18% from the 3.105 million viewers that watched last week's "Superstar Shakeup" episode. Last week saw the best viewership number for 2017, but last night's was the second worst of the year, behind only the 2.533 that watched the January 10th episode.
SmackDown came in at #6 in viewership on cable for the night, behind two NBA Playoff games, and FOX News' Special Report, Tucker Carlson and The O'Reilly Factor. SmackDown did manage #3 in the highly coveted 18-49 demographic, behind only the NBA games.
In comparison, Monday's episode of RAW drew 3.346 million viewers, down from last week's 3.429 million viewers, but still good enough for RAW's 4th best number of the year.
