Sumie Sakai Returning From Broken Orbital Bone Injury At Post-ROH Best In The World TV Taping
Sumie Sakai will be back in action this month.
The first-ever Women Of Honor Champion Sumie Sakai suffered a broken orbital bone at Ring Of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s G1 Supercard show at Madison Square Garden in April. Sakai has been out of action since that event but she’ll be making her return to in-ring competition on June 29th against Karissa Rivera at the post-ROH Best In The World television taping at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
Sakai’s injury occurred during a six-woman tag match at G1 Supercard in-which she teamed with Hana Kimura and Stella Grey against Jenny Rose and ‘Odeo Tai’ (Kagetsu and Suzuki). Kagetsu’s knee connected with Sumie Sakai’s face during a 450 Splash which caused the injury.
On June 28th, Ring Of Honor will present their Best In The World pay-per-view from Baltimore, Maryland and here’s the updated match card for the show:
