Here is your fight size update for WWE Friday Night SmackDown and AEW Rampage on Friday, August 4, 2023.

WWE SmackDown

– The O.C. argued with the Brawling Brutes, leading to a match where Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows faced Ridge Holland and Butch. The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) attacked both teams and stood tall with Bobby Lashley.

– LA Knight cut a pre-match promo and looked ahead to the Slim Jim Battle Royal at WWE SummerSlam. Some of the participants came to ringside and brawled during Knight’s match with Sheamus. The distraction helped Knight clinch the win. 

– A video package, featuring Rikishi, Afa, and Sika, highlighted Tribal Combat.

– In a vignette, Charlotte Flair made it clear that she’s ready to take her throne back at WWE SummerSlam.

– WWE United States Champion Austin Theory defeated Cameron Grimes in a non-title match. Santos Escobar attacked Theory after the bell to gain momentum ahead of their bout.

Shotzi made her return to WWE TV and took the fight to Bayley, as she interrupted “The Role Model” and IYO SKY when they were on The Grayson Waller Effect.

– Paul Heyman previewed the Tribal Combat clash between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso. He blamed Jey for everyone. Jey came out, and tensions rose when Solo Sikoa interrupted. Jey rocked Sikoa with a superkick.

– WWE Women’s Champion Asuka looked ahead to her title match at WWE SummerSlam.

– WWE will celebrate Edge’s 25th anniversary on the August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown.

– IYO SKY faced Zelina Vega. Shotzi attacked Bayley during the match, and the distraction cost SKY the match. 

– Bianca Belair discussed her quest to win gold again ahead of WWE SummerSlam.

WWE provided a medical update on Rey Mysterio.

– Jey Uso defeated Solo Sikoa in a hard-fought main event.

– Solo Sikoa attacked Jey Uso after the match. Jey took control and hit Sikoa with a chair. He stood tall at the end of the show. 

– Bobby Lashley stated that it is time for him and the Street Profits to take over.

AEW Rampage

– On the latest edition of QTV, QT Marshall said they have to start over. Harley Cameron told the cameraman to play the tape, which showed Johnny TV issuing an open challenge to anyone who has appeared on TV.

– The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) said it was important for them to get back to focusing on the tag team division. The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy) approached them and challenged them to a match. The Young Bucks agreed to face them on AEW Dynamite.

– A video package highlighted the history between Adam Cole and The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett). They say Cole always forgets about his real friends.

– The Hardys (Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy) teamed up with Keith Lee to defeat Kip Sabian, The Butcher, and The Blade. 

– In an interview, TBS Kris Statlander previewed her match with Mercedes Martinez on AEW Collision. As she spoke, she pressed Renee Paquette over her shoulders.

– Anna Jay faced Skye Blue. Angelo Parker distracted Blue, and Jay capitalized by locking in the Queen Slayer and making Blue tap out.

– Tony Schiavone announced that PAC was injured. Paul Wight noted that the Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) challenged the winners of the Parking Lot Fight to a match on AEW Dynamite.

– Swerve Strickland and AR Fox defeated Logan Cruz and Tyshaun Perez.

– Big Bill and Brian Cage expressed their confidence ahead of their title match against FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler).

Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli) defeated Best Friends (Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor) in a brutal Parking Lot Fight.

– Cash Wheeler took a shot at Brian Cage.

– Harley Cameron teased the future of QTV.

– Kris Statlander commented on her interview and her upcoming title match.

– Statlander wondered why she wasn’t asked to be at the Parking Lot Fight.

– Harley Cameron was seemingly wearing one of Matt Cardona’s Indy Got hats on QTV. Cardona noticed and joked about it.

– Colten Gunn claimed that he and Austin Gunn are the best brother tag team.

– Steph De Lander commented on Harley Cameron seemingly wearing Matt Cardona’s hat.

– Two tag team matches have been announced for the August 9 episode of AEW Dynamite. More information is available here.
