Stipulations Announced For KOPW Title Match Between Taichi And SHO At 11/17 New Japan Road

As previously announced, SHO will defend the King of Pro Wrestling Title against SHO at the NJPW New Japan Road event on November 17. SHO gave his list of rules for the bout, and a fan vote has determined the stipulations.

The voting is complete, and NJPW confirmed the rules. Yoshinobu Kanemaru will be the special guest referee, the loser can never wrestle in Yamagata again, Taichi can not use his signature moves, and SHO can not use his own signature moves.

The results are in after a 24 hour poll to determine the rules for Friday’s KOPW 2023 match between Taichi and SHO in Yamagata. After SHO refused Taichi the right to nominate a stipulation, he presented four rules that all came from the dark minds of HOUSE OF TORTURE themselves, and Yoshinobu Kanemaru’s choice of ‘special referee’ won the vote. 

33,909 votes were cast in the voting period, with results broken down as follows:

EVIL: Lumberjack Strap Match: 10.9% (3691 votes) 

Dick Togo: 2 on 1 Handicap Match: 7.8% (2652 votes)

Yujiro Takahashi: Special Weapons Officer Match: 10.7% (3631 votes)

Yoshinobu Kanemaru: Special Guest Referee: 70.6% (23,935 votes) 

Yoshinobu Kanemaru will be the special guest referee for the bout. In addition, Taichi is forbidden from using the Dangerous Backdrop, Black Mephisto, Tenshi Jujiho and sumo techniques SHO is forbidden from using his ‘signature moves’ of the Shooting Star Press, Phoenix Splash, Double Rotation Moonsault Press and any System Sambo techniques. Furthermore, the loser is forbidden to ever wrestle in Yamagata again.
