Steve Austin Has Some Advice For Big Cass On How To Be A Great Heel
Big Cass recently entered uncharted waters for him–he's turned heel. And he doesn't have Enzo Amore and his promo work to fall back on anymore. This could be the start of the seven-footer's prime–a renaissance period where the big man gets pushed to the moon–or it could backfire completely into an unmitigated disaster.
But Cass has people in high places who believe in his ability to shine in this new role. One of them, presumably, is Vince McMahon, and another is Stone Cold Steve Austin–provided that Cass take Austin's advice on how to be a good heel.
Speaking on a recent episode of his podcast, Austin said this:
"All he has to do is good, solid work. Don't fly like a cruiserweight. Don't worry about taking the big bumps. Just work logic. Be mean. Be vicious. Sell when it's your time to sell. Don't turn into super coward mode. Don't oversell. Just sell. And learn. And sometimes when you're working a guy that's smaller than you, register, and if they get you into sell mode, then you sell, but be vicious in your heat. Good luck to Big Cass. Good luck to both of them (Cass and Enzo)."
Austin was asked who he thought Cass should best emulate in this new role, to which he replied: "Right now, in this heel vein that he's going, maybe even heel Barry Windham. But I liked Barry better as a baby."
The ironic thing is that a lot of people think we'll be saying the same thing about Cass after a few months: "I liked him better as a baby."
