Steve Austin Feels Brock Lesnar Is The Match He Missed Out On

Steve Austin wishes he could have wrestled Brock Lesnar.

Throughout his legendary career, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin has got to wrestle some of the big names to ever grace a pair of boots like The Rock, Bret Hart, Triple H, and Chris Jericho. Due to his retirement in 2003, Austin never got the chance to wrestle the likes of Randy Orton, John Cena, or even Brock Lesnar.

According to Austin himself, he was actually scheduled to have a match with Lesnar at one point, but the bout never came to fruition due to creative issues. ‘The Texas Rattlesnake’ spoke about how he feels like it was the match he missed out on in a new interview with WESH 2 news.

“That guy is Brock Lesnar. Way back in the day, I was scheduled to wrestle him in Atlanta at a television taping. The match wasn’t great as far as creative goes, so it never happened. That’s the match that got away. I have so much respect for Brock and watching him go through the evolution of becoming one of the best pros out there. To go into the MMA world and become a world champion. He’s had a heck of a journey and no one has had a career like his and his longevity has been supreme. Brock Lesnar would be my answer.”

A match between Lesnar and Austin in the future is not completely out of the question, as Austin made his return to the ring at WrestleMania 38 in a bout against Kevin Owens.

In a separate recent interview, Austin noted that he felt like he couldn’t get in shape for a match with a top guy at WWE WrestleMania 39. Fans can learn more here.

Brock Lesnar is set to appear on the May 1 episode of WWE Raw. Fans can learn more here.
