Stephanie McMahon: We Have Plans To Go Back To One Night WrestleMania, But We’ll See What Happens
For the second straight year, WWE WrestleMania will take place across two nights.
The decision to make WrestleMania a two-night event was made in 2020 after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the company out of Raymond James Stadium and into an empty Performance Center. While WWE will return to Raymond James Stadium for WrestleMania 37, with plans to allow a limited number of fans, the event will still take place across two nights.
Speaking to TV Insider, Stephanie McMahon discussed the decision to remain at two nights.
“We want to maximize the value. The two nights are unique to the times. [We have plans] to go back to one night for future WrestleMania events, but of course we will see what happens this year. We want to deliver the best possible value we can for our fans who are hopefully able to attend and for those watching all around the world,” she said.
WWE announced plans for WrestleMania 38 and 39, with both events currently scheduled to take place on just one night.
While WrestleMania is still months away, WWE Royal Rumble takes place on Sunday, January 31. Speaking about the Royal Rumble and Pat Patterson’s influence on the match, Stephanie said, “It really was his baby. With every legacy business, I think it’s important to remember the history and the people who got you to where you are. We will never forget him. I’m just anxious to see the stories unfold. Also, the surprises where you know never know who is going to be joining in. There is that excitement of who is first or last. When it gets down to the last six to four competitors and really don’t know what is going to happen. That’s what I’m looking forward to most.”
