Stephanie McMahon Thinks Conor McGregor Would Be “A Perfect Fit with WWE”

Conor McGregor, love him or hate him, is one of the biggest names in sports. The UFC megastar shocked the world this past summer when he stepped into a boxing ring with the undefeated Floyd Mayweather and turned in a spirited 10 round effort (eventually losing by TKO).

A rising stock and mouth that just won’t quit have people wondering what’s next for The Notorious One.

The connection between Conor and the world of sports entertainment has always been alluded to – the Vince McMahon strut and Ric Flair personality are usually first to be mentioned – but could we ever see him in the WWE?

According to Stephanie McMahon, WWE’s Chief Brand Officer, “Conor would be a perfect fit with WWE.” The company has been associating more and more with the world of MMA, most notably the hiring of Shayna Baszler and the appearances of Ronda Rousey, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir at the Mae Young Classic, so it stands to reason that the biggest star in the industry would be welcome with open arms.

Stephanie, who was speaking at a Leaders in Sports convention told The Mirror that “he certainly has the personality and the athletic ability, the appeal. He speaks his mind, he’s very genuine and authentic, and he has a hell of a Vince McMahon swagger.”

Thus far, McGregor has yet to appear on WWE programming.
