The AEW Double or Nothing go-home show featured some changes to the pay-per-view.

The AEW Double or Nothing go-home show featured some changes to the pay-per-view.

The May 24 episode of AEW Rampage kicked off with The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) and “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn defeating Dralistico, RUSH, and Preston Vance of La Faccion Ingobernable. After the match, The Acclaimed cut a promo and stated that they have been running through the trios division. With that in mind, they noted that they were in Las Vegas, so they should do some gambling.

They then teased that they were coming after AEW World Trios Champions The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews) at AEW Double or Nothing. In a clear reference to the champions, Bowens stated that the house always wins, but never bet on black.

The broadcast team subsequently confirmed that the House of Black will defend the AEW World Trios Championship at AEW Double or Nothing in an Open House Rules match, but their opponents were not named.

Plus, Ethan Page and The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn) scored a dominant win in trios action ahead of their match with The Hardys (Matt and Jeff Hardy) and Isiah Kassidy at AEW Double or Nothing. After the match, The Hardys came out and hyped up their match against Page and the Gunns at the pay-per-view. Isiah Kassidy came out and revealed that he was injured, so he was unable to compete. He then named HOOK s his replacement in the match. HOOK previously teamed up with The Hardys and Kassidy in The Firm Deletion match on the May 5 episode of AEW Rampage.

The commentary team also noted that Kassidy was out indefinitely due to the injury. He was seemingly injured on-screen when Page stomped on his neck while a chair was wrapped around it on the May 12 episode of AEW Rampage
