Sonny Kiss: Every Person You See In AEW Is Authentic

Sonny Kiss hasn’t been featured often on AEW television, but when he’s been on, he’s made the most of his television time. Whether it’s catching Billy Gunn’s attention with his ass or a choreographed entranced with Jacksonville Jaguars cheerleaders, Kiss has been able to show off his personality when on-screen.

Speaking to Andrew Thompson of POST Wrestling, Kiss discussed how AEW allows performers to be themselves on-screen.

“I feel like every person that you see is authentic. They’re not altered by anybody or anything. It’s just kind of like, this is their character, this is who they are in and out of the ring and I think that’s awesome.”

Kiss has worked closed with Billy Gunn and Dustin Rhodes, both on-screen and off. Along with twerking in front of Gunn, Kiss teamed with Rhodes on an episode of AEW Dark.

When discussing the two veterans, Kiss said, “Him [Dustin Rhodes] and Billy [Gunn] are definitely like my mentors. They’ve been very instrumental in my career since I met them, especially Billy since maybe four years ago [when] I met him. Yeah, it’s a legit relationship. They’re definitely helping me a lot. Dustin and I on-screen, I’m not sure exactly where it’s gonna go. I’m looking forward to something really, really awesome happening.”

Kiss is set to compete on Tuesday’s episode of AEW Dark, teaming with Brandon Cutler to take on The Dark Order. Fightful will have full results from Dark following the conclusion of the show.
