Sonjay Dutt: Our Goal Was To Bring Stability To IMPACT

Sonjay Dutt takes a step back.

IMPACT Wrestling has had many individuals go with them through the good times and the bad times and some have stuck with the company through it all. One of those people was inducted into the IMPACT Hall Of Fame last night which was none other than “The Monster” Abyss. Another one of those “ride or die” people who has been a part of IMPACT for a great portion of their careers is former X Division Champion Sonjay Dutt.

Dutt is still active in the ring but he also works as a creative writer behind the scenes for IMPACT and some of his storylines will be in full force tonight as IMPACT presents ‘Bound For Glory’ from the ‘Melrose Ballroom’ in New York City. As mentioned, last night Abyss was inducted into the Hall Of Fame and talents and employees of IMPACT were in the “Big Apple” to show support for Abyss and while doing so they spoke to various media outlets. One of the outlets that Sonjay Dutt spoke with was the ‘Mirror’ and during their discussion Sonjay reflected on how IMPACT currently has a positive vibe backstage compared to where they were years ago.

“I thought that our major goals should be to bring stability – not only to obviously TNA’s chaotic backstage scene in the past, but also in front of the camera.” He said. “How the show is presented, the talent, more cohesive stories and just better storytelling. Those were some of the main goals. Bottom line, it comes down to talent. We had to look at the roster, revamp some things, bring in some new and fresh talent.”

Sonjay Dutt has been in the wrestling business for fifteen years and has put together quite the resume’ for himself. Sonjay spoke about his career and said that he feels “fulfilled”.

“I’m fulfilled, I’m creative, I still get to contribute and I’m still part of the professional wrestling industry. I’ve had an amazing career. I’ve wrestled in 17 or 18 different countries, all over the United States as well, I’ve wrestled on TV, I’ve done it all. I got offered a job by WWE that I had to say no to, so I checked that off.” Dutt concluded.
