Son Of WWE Hall Of Famer Signs With Pro Wrestling NOAH
Cody Hall, the son of Scott Hall, is headed to Pro Wrestling NOAH.
SEScoops first reported news of the second-generation star signing with the Japanese promotion.
The younger Hall, who was trained by part by his father — a WWE Hall of Famer and a founding member of the New World Order — missed almost a year after suffering a neck injury last April when he and other wrestlers caught Nick Jackson during a leap off a barricade during New Japan Pro Wrestling's Invasion Attack 2016 event. He made his return to the ring last month in England for a handful of matches.
Hall came to NJPW in 2015 as the young lion/trainee for the Bullet Club faction. At that time, NOAH and New Japan were working together, but that relationship ended when new owners acquired NOAH late last year. NJPW removed his profile from the roster page in January.
Hall's exact role in NOAH remains to be seen but his first match will be against one of the mainstays on that promotion's roster, Go Shiozaki, in a bout scheduled for the April 14 event from Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
For American fans, NOAH might be best known for being the home promotion of Hideo Itami. Major names such as Daniel Bryan, Kassius Ohno, and Samoa Joe also have worked for NOAH in the past. More recently, the promotion has played host to names like Zack Sabre, Jr., and the NXT tag team of TM-61.
Impact and Pro Wrestling NOAH announced a new working relationship last month, and several wrestlers currently signed to Impact took part in the March 12 NOAH event in Yokohama, Japan.
