Skye Blue Wants To Wrestle Until She’s 80, Hopes To Compete In A Hardcore Match On TV

Skye Blue wants to have a long career in wrestling.

Blue, 23, made her AEW debut in 2021, and she has been a part of the roster ever since. She often competes for both AEW and ROH, and she has faced some of the company’s top stars, including Toni Storm and Jade Cargill. Blue also remains active on the independent scene as she continues to make a name for herself.

Speaking with Ewan Gleadow of The Daily Star, Blue made it clear that she wants to keep wrestling as long as she is physically able to do so. She then stated that she’d like to be active when she’s 80.

“I’m a very chill human being. As long as I can do this for as long as physically possible, I want to be 80 years old and still doing this because I’m psycho,” Blue said.

Blue also described her other goals; she noted that she wants to have an intergender match and a hardcore bout on TV. In doing so, she explained that she’d like to break the mold and some of the standards of the wrestling industry.

“I would definitely like to break some of the standards and the mold. I would love to have an intergender match on TV. I would love to do a hardcore match on TV. I love doing hardcore matches even though I really shouldn’t. But just something, you know, I want to show that the girls can do it too,” Blue said.

Looking back to her teenage years, Blue recalled how she watched a TLC match and decided that she wanted to be a wrestler. Now, she is often featured on AEW and ROH TV, and she has her sights set on a lengthy career. Blue highlighted the importance of taking care of one’s body in order to keep wrestling for a long time.

“So many of us are so young and it’s like, we just need the opportunity to show them. Just because we’re young doesn’t mean we’re not ready. As long as we take care of our bodies, I feel like we can all definitely like, do this for as long as we all wish. We have doctors and we have people that take care of us and tell us ‘You need to do this and this to make sure that your body is good for whatever you’re doing,'” Blue said.
