Shinsuke Nakamura Wants To Wrestle For At Least Five More Years
Shinsuke Nakamura promotes WWE’s live event in Asia.
Former two-time WWE United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura will be traveling with WWE for their handful of shows overseas next month and one of those shows will take place in Singapore. Nakamura is slated to take on Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship at the Singapore show and to promote the forthcoming live event, Nakamura chatted with ‘The Straits Times’.
Nakamura said it will be an honor for him as an Asian to main event a show in Singapore and is hoping he has a great match against “The Architect”.
“It is a such a honor as an Asian to main event the show in Singapore,” he said.“It all depends on the matches in Singapore and in Tokyo. A lot of people want me to come back to singles wrestling. Hopefully, I will have a great match against Seth.”
Shinsuke has been in the wrestling business since 2002 and shared that he at least wants to wrestle five more years. After being in WWE for three years and having won the NXT and United States Titles along with a Royal Rumble match, in five years time, Nakamura could be looking to hang it up.
“I want to wrestle at least five more years. I’m 39 now. Baseball player Ichiro Suzuki retired at 45 and he was such an influence for Japanese sportsmen, especially those who lived in other countries, and so I need to wrestle until I’m 45 years old,” he mused.
Shinsuke Nakamura debuted for WWE at NXT TakeOver: Dallas against Sami Zayn and their match can be watched here.
