Shingo Takagi Wins NEVER Openweight Title At NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed, Challenged By Trent Beretta
Shingo Takagi has captured his third NEVER Openweight Championship and received an immediate challenge for the title from an AEW Superstar.
Shingo Takagi defeated Tama Tonga in the main event of NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed to capture the NEVER Openweight Championship. As is customary in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Takagi got on the microphone and requested that his next challenger make their presence felt.
It took some time but the lights eventually went out in the arena and Trent Beretta appeared on screen, quickly issuing a challenge for a NEVER Openweight Title bout on November 10 at NJPW Lonestar Shootout.
