Shingo Takagi Becomes 2023 Provisional KOPW Champion At NJPW New Year Dash!!
The first 2023 KOPW Provisional Champion has been crowned.
Shingo Takagi won the 2023 KOPW Provisional Championship at NJPW New Year Dash!!, defeating Toru Yano, Great-O-Khan, and SHO in a four-way bout.
The finish saw Shingo hit Last of the Dragon on Yano for the victory.

The four men qualified for the KOPW Provisional Title bout by being the final four in the NJPW Rambo at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17.
The provision championship is defended throughout the year in stipulation matches picked by the competitors and then voted on by the fans. The man who holds the title at the end of the year is crowned the King of Pro Wrestling.
Yano was the 2020 and 2021 KOPW while Shingo was the 2022 KOPW. At Wrestle Kingdom 17, Shingo stated that he would bring his KOPW Title and challenge Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title.
