Sheriff Issues Statement Saying Brian Christopher Lawler Gave No Indication Of Suicidal Thoughts

The Hardeman County Sheriff saw no reason to not leave Brian Lawler in a cell alone.

On Sunday, the tragic news of Brian Lawler’s death spread after an apparent attempted suicide in the Hardeman County jail following a recent DUI arrest. He was still alive until late evening on Sunday when his family decided to remove the life support.

On Monday, WMC Action News reported a statement from the Hardeman County Sheriff who said Lawler was placed into an individual cell because of his notoriety and fame.  He was not placed on suicide watch because he gave the officers no indication he intended to self harm.

The Tennessee Bureau Of Investigation will be conducting an investigation regarding Lawler’s stay in the jail and his death. The workers who found Lawler hanging said they performed CPR until he was transported to the hospital.

Since his death, the world of professional wrestling has expressed condolences to Lawler’s family and shared positive memories of Lawler from past years.

Fightful Wrestling will report any significant news coming out of the investigation of Lawler’s death.
