Shelton Benjamin Signs New Multi-Year Deal With WWE

Shelton Benjamin is staying with WWE for some time.

Appearing on the “Chasing Glory With Lilian Garcia” podcast, Benjamin revealed that he signed a multi-year deal with WWE.

“Yeah, I just re-signed another multi-year deal with them. So, I’m still going to be here for another while,” Benjamin said.

Benjamin’s latest run started for the company was being teased in 2016 as vignettes started to air showcasing his return, but his in-ring return to the company was delayed for months as Benjamin had to deal with a torn rotator cuff. Benjamin would later reveal that he never actually signed a contract at the time of his injury and so was technically a free agent. In August 2017, it was revealed that Benjamin signed with WWE and wrestled on both Raw and SmackDown since then.

The 44-year-old last wrestled on an episode of Main Event, but prior to that, he competed in the Royal Rumble match and was quickly eliminated by Brock Lesnar. Benjamin, who now competes on the Raw brand, first joined WWE in 2000, starting out in Ohio Valley Wrestling to start his development as a pro wrestler. His first run with the company saw him win the Intercontinental and World Tag Team Championships and was released from the company in 2010.
