Shelton Benjamin On Dedicating His TLC Win To Shad Gaspard, Nick Jackson Talks EVP Challenges | Fight-Size Update

Here is your fight-size update for Tuesday, December 22, 2020:

– Shelton Benjamin discusses dedicating his WWE TLC victory to the late Shad Gaspard who passed away earlier this year.

“Knowing that I had gone in there and dedicated this moment to Shad. When I attended his funeral, I made a promise to myself that if I won a title, especially a tag team championship, because I know Shad and JTG worked hard even though they never actually got a chance to wear a title. I made a point then that no matter what title it was going to be, it was going to be dedicated to Shad.”

“I had never dedicated a title win to anybody and I think this was so significant, so important, just for him and for his son. Part of the reason is, I want his son to know just how great a guy that his dad was. Just what a big influence and what a big impact he had on myself and the world.”

– In a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Nick Jackson spoke openly about realizing that as an EVP of a company, sometimes you have to be the bad guy.

I never would have thought that we’d be doing this on a weekly basis, so I have to pinch myself every Wednesday before we go on live. So that aspect is still there. It still feels like a dream. The hard part is the job and keeping everyone happy because you don’t even really realize it until you get into management that’s it’s hard to keep a lot of these wrestlers on the same page. Because obviously there’s a lot of egos in wrestling and you want the wrestlers to be happy and that’s something that’s hard but it’s manageable and we’ve learned that you can’t always be the good guy so at some points you have to be the bad guy.”
