Shazza McKenzie Reflects On Her Wrestling Career, Which Will Likely End On December 2
Shazza McKenzie reflects on her time in the wrestling industry.
In September, McKenzie celebrated her fifteen year anniversary in the wrestling industry. McKenzie had her first bout at a Insane Championship Wrestling event in Canberra, Australia on September 20, 2008, and since that day, she has went on to wrestle for promotions like WWE, All Elite Wrestling, and Ring Of Honor.
While speaking to Fightful for a recent interview, McKenzie joked that she’s ready for a nap before going on to say that she feels very blessed to have accomplish all of the things that she has accomplished.
“Exhausting. I’m tired. I’m going to bed. I’m ready for a nap. I’m old and tired. It’s been amazing. I feel very blessed. Wrestling’s such a wild thing where you are always constantly trying to go to the next thing, the next thing, the next thing, so when you sit back and look at what you’ve done, you’re like, ‘Oh, okay. It’s fine.’ When I walked into training did I think I’d ever wrestle on WWE TV? No. Absolutely not. So the fact I’ve done half the things I’ve done, is like mind blowing. I was just excited at the idea that I could have a match. Now we’re 15 years into doing that and that’s crazy.”
McKenzie is set to face off against Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp at Black Label Pro’s upcoming ‘Slamilton’ show on Saturday, December 2. Fans can learn more about the show by visiting Black Label Pro’s social media account here.
Sapp is raising money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness for the match. You can donate at NAMI.
