Shayna Baszler Wins 2-Out-Of-3 Falls Match Against Kairi Sane To Retain NXT Women’s Title At TakeOver: War Games II

Shayna is still the top dog.

Last month at WWE ‘Evolution’, former UFC fighters and best-friends of Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke helped “The Queen Of Spades” become a two-time NXT Women’s Champion. In the weeks leading up to tonight’s NXT TakeOver: War Games II, Kairi evoked her rematch clause for the title and NXT GM William Regal decided to make the bout a 2-Out-Of-3 Falls match.

The time for that bout came and Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke wasted no time providing Shayna with the advantage and with that advantage, Shayna was able to lock up Kairi Sane with her signature submission maneuver to gain the first fall.

Kairi got herself together and was able to best all three women at one point and hit her “Insane Elbow” to pick up the second fall. Duke and Shafir remained on the outside and continuously got involved but coming down to the ring to even the odds were Dakota Kai and Io Shirai.

It appeared that Kairi was going to have a fair fight now that the outside odds were evened but Shayna Baszler moved swiftly and held Kairi down for a backslide to secure the final fall and remain NXT Women’s Champion.
