Shawn Spears Got Permission To Use The Sharpshooter As A Finish From Bret Hart
Bret Hart gives his blessing.
On Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Shawn Spears picked up a victory over Baron Black with the Sharpshooter. Spears typically uses the C4 to finish off opponents, so fans were curious about the change. Some were even upset that Spears would use the Sharpshooter given the history of the move.
But Spears put everyone’s mind at ease, revealing that he asked Bret Hart himself if he could use the hold as a finish.
For those commenting:
A while back, I sent a text to @BretHart asking a question.
He told me: “Go for it, it works”
Tonight as @IAmJericho mentioned, I paid tribute to a Canadian ICON by winning via the #Sharpshooter
It just makes sense. Mine now.#LoveYouBret @AEWrestling

That settles that. It looks like Spears will continue to use the Sharpshooter moving forward with the blessing of The Hitman.
