Shawn Michaels sometimes feels tempted to get in the ring and work with young talent.

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels last wrestled in 2018, as he came out of retirement for WWE Crown Jewel 2018. He has since made it clear that his in-ring days are behind him. In recent years, he has been leading NXT forward and working with the superstars of tomorrow. He now has the title of WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative.

Shawn Michaels spoke on Busted Open Radio to promote NXT’s premiere on The CW Network on October 1st. In one highlight, Bully Ray asked him whether he ever wanted to get in the ring with an NXT star like Trick Williams to help get him to the next level.

“I’ll say this. I get it with many of our talent. There are times that I wish I could just get in there with them once, again, to help them. You’re in there with a certain somebody, and then this feel, this feel, this mysterious feel that we always talk about, whether we’re talking to one another or we’re talking to young talent, they’re able to grasp it. Right it, it’s something that eludes them. They hear about it, but you don’t know it until you’re felt it. There are times that you know I can make them feel this in that moment if I could just be out there with them. But look, that goes back to the patience on our part, the patience on their part, and doing everything that we can to put them with the best people or put them in the right situations and give them a right mindset to know what it is they’re looking for and then to recognize when they see it or feel it,” Michaels said.

Shawn Michaels recently teased that big surprises were coming to NXT’s roster. Check out his comments here.
