Shawn Michaels Says Vince McMahon Doesn’t Have Any NXT ‘Sway,’ Hopes To See Him WM Weekend
Shawn Michaels hopes to see Vince McMahon during WrestleMania weekend.
WrestleMania is the biggest weekend of the year for WWE and wrestling, and though he’s no longer involved in the creative aspect of WWE, Vince McMahon will reportedly be attending events and, as the controlling shareholder and with media rights negotiations coming up, will be part of the negotiations that are scheduled to take place over the weekend.
Speaking during a media scrum, Shawn Michaels was asked if Vince McMahon has been involved in any NXT business during the week.
“He doesn’t have any sway, at least right now [laughs]. We haven’t seen him, I haven’t seen him this weekend. I’ve been out here since Monday, doing the tryouts with NXT, which is another subject. It’s WrestleMania, Vince is the one who built all of this. I understand the way everybody feels, but this is still the brand he built. For him to want to come out here and be part of this show, I think is a perfectly natural thing. I kind of hope that he does. I would like to see him this weekend. I haven’t seen him in quite some time, just to say hello. I hope, like Hunter and all of us, I hope he’s proud of what we’ve put on here this weekend. It’s been a huge success so far,” said Shawn.
Shawn noted that the metrics for WrestleMania weekend have been good and now it’s up to the talent to deliver, and that he has confidence in them doing so.
