Shawn Michaels Praises The Work Ethic Of Drew McIntyre
Shawn Michaels applauds Drew McIntyre for wanting to better himself.
Drew McIntyre is one of the hottest superstars on the main roster right now. He’s currently involved in a storyline with top star Braun Strowman and he recently defeated Kurt Angle on Raw.
Speaking to ComicBook.com, NXT trainer/producer Shawn Michaels was asked who he sees as an up-and-coming superstar in WWE. Michaels immediately pointed to McIntyre.
“Lately, you’ve got to take a look at Drew McIntyre. He’s doing a phenomenal job,” said Michaels. “He was a guy who had been in the WWE before, but went out and felt like he needed to grow and get more experience and needed to try something different. He felt like what he was doing wasn’t working and he went out and did that, then came back through NXT. He was a guy that didn’t need to be here at the Performance Center on a regular basis, but still came and sat in our class, took part in it and made the most of the opportunity that he had.”
McIntyre was released from his WWE contract in 2014 and spent three years on the Independent scene before returning to NXT/WWE in April 2017. McIntyre spent a year in NXT, winning the NXT Title, before being called up to the main roster this past April. Michaels has been working as a trainer/producer with NXT since 2016.
