The second match to open the 2019 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view was the SmackDown Live Tag Team Titles match as Sheamus and Cesaro defended the titles against Shane McMahon and The Miz. The make-shift duo of Miz and Shane found the comradery within their partnership in a few weeks and that was all they needed to defeat Cesaro and Sheamus to become SmackDown Tag Team Champions at the Royal Rumble.

The conclusion of the match saw The Miz save Shane from a “Brogue Kick” by hitting his finisher on Sheamus. Cesaro was then taken out by Shane McMahon and Shane pulled out the “Shooting Star Press” to pick up the victory for himself and his co-Bestie In The World.
The Miz and Shane then celebrated with Miz’s father on the outside as they are now the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions.
