Seth Rollins: The Rock Couldn’t Lace My Boots In The Best Years Of His Career, Let Alone Now

Seth Rollins says he’s levels above The Rock.

Seth Rollins has been at odds with The Rock in recent weeks, as “The Great One” has aligned with Roman Reigns in his feud against Cody Rhodes. Rollins has made it clear that Rhodes does not have to fight alone, and he has even offered to be Cody’s shield.

Speaking with Alex McCarthy for Mail Sport, Seth Rollins took several shots at The Rock as he discussed his return to WWE. He made it clear that, in his mind, the WWE roster has become what it is today without The Rock, as he has been off doing his own thing.

“Yeah, he’s gonna open his mouth, run his mouth, say the same old crap he’s been saying for the last two decades because he can’t come up with any new material. Bottom line is, he is an afterthought. This is our story, our era. We’ve built the last decade of WWE, this Elimination Chamber show, this WrestleMania will be the biggest ever; we built it without him. He’s been off doing his own thing and I’m not taking anything away from him; he laid the groundwork for it but we built it, man. We built the wall, we built the roof, we’ve got this sorted. He can come in and have a little tea but we will shoe him on the way out. Happy to have him, happier to see him go,” Rollins said.

Rollins went on to note that The Rock is a specimen, but he has not had a true match in a decade. Rollins stated that he is on a different level, which is above any level The Rock has ever operated at. He stated that The Rock could not lace his boots in his prime, let alone now.

“He is a specimen, he is a specimen. But he hasn’t had a match in a decade. John Cena, two times at WrestleMania. Had a couple of stuff, a tag team match and a couple of appearances here and there. I’m on a different level right now. I am in my prime. I am operating at a level so high above any level he’s ever operated at. He couldn’t lace my boots in the best years of his career, let alone now. I’m just saying,” Rollins said.

In a recent interview, Rollins said he would be open to defending his title against The Rock and Roman Reigns. Click here to see what he had to say.

Rollins recently said that if it were up to him, he would be back in the ring before WrestleMania. Check out his comments here.
