Seth Rollins retains the gold.
On the January 15 episode of WWE Raw, Jinder Mahal challenged Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. Mahal received the title shot after he confronted Rollins on the January 8 episode of WWE Raw, which came one week after he made his return at WWE Raw Day One. There, he was interrupted by the return of The Rock.
Mahal’s bout with Rollins marked his first time competing on WWE television since the March 28, 2023, episode of WWE NXT. Prior to Monday, he had not wrestled on Raw or SmackDown since November 2022. Mahal did not come to the ring alone, as Veer Mahaan and Sanga accompanied him. The two powerhouses interfered throughout the match, and they helped Mahal score the win by hitting Rollins with the Money in the Bank briefcase.

The presence of Señor Money in the Bank Damian Priest also loomed large. He came out during the match and teased cashing in, but the arrival of Drew McIntyre took him out of the equation, as they brawled after a brief confrontation.
